WHO WE ARE

S.U.N.A. is a New York State incorporated non-profit humane society ( 501c-3 ) operating in four counties only under a FOSTER CARE system - that's what makes us unique. We are devoted to saving the lives of unwanted pets and believe that a foster care environment makes a difference. Should a pet never find a home, our foster families become a PERMANENT loving sanctuary, where they will live out their lives enjoying the love and care that they deserve ! S.U.N.A. is strictly a volunteer agency and has no paid employees, therefore your donations go directly toward the welfare of the animals. Please visit our ADOPTABLE PET LIST to find your new best friend or send a generous donation toward providing permanent care for S.U.N.A.'s animals who never find that special home! Thank You !

ADOPTING A FRIEND

S.U.N.A. finds great homes for healthy adoptable pets, one at a time ! When you adopt a pet, your donation helps to continue our program and support the next animal who comes through our doors. We provide the best vet and medical care for each animal, as well as spaying and neutering, before they leave our program. Our adoption process is extensive and home visitation of perspective "parents" is required in order to find the best home suited for each animal's need ! If you are interested in adopting, please call or email us for more detailed information. You'll be glad knowing you're bringing home a heathly happy well adjusted pet to become a wonderful new family member !

SUNA's PERPETUAL CARE PROGRAM FOR THE UNWANTED

S.U.N.A. has a perpetual care program that provides a PERMANENT home for unwanted, neglected, unadoptable or older pets, like Buddy in the picture with one of our foster parents. We provide a loving environment that they need in order to maintain a healthy normal well deserved life style for the rest of their days. One of our foster homes is an organic fruit orchard where produce donations help provide for this type of care. THANKS to all of you for the many donations received for their perpetual and medical care. And thanks to those who volunteer their time in helping these pets live out a full and happy life !

WAITING

A dog sits waiting in the cold Autumn sun-
Too faithful to leave, too frightened to run.
He's been there for days now with nothing to do
But sit by the road, waiting for you.
He can't understand why you left him that day.
He thought you and he were stopping to play.
He's sure you'll come back, and that's why he stays.
How long will he suffer ? How many more days ?
His legs have grown weak, his throat parched and dry;
He's sick now from hunger, and
He falls with a sigh.
He lays down his head, and he closes his eyes-
I wish you could SEE how a waiting dog dies.
